As of January, more than 580,000 public sector workers received an increase of S/50 to their ordinary salary. This economic improvement is contemplated in the Centralized Collective Agreement 2023-2024 that was signed on June 30 of last year by the representatives of the five state confederations and the Executive Branch.
This measure will be applied again in the second part of the year and will not affect the tax coffers. The monthly increase is of a pensionable nature, has a remunerative nature and is part of the basis for calculating the labor benefits that correspond to each state worker. Salary increase of S/100: which workers will receive it?
The Government and workers agreed that, as of January 1, 2024, public sector personnel will receive a permanent monthly increase in their salaries. This economic improvement of S/100 will be carried out in two tranches: in January it was raised by S/50 and in December the other S/50 will be effective.
According to the Centralized Collective Agreement 2023-2024, signed on June 30 of last year, the salary increase for more than 582,000 public workers will reach the following servants, managers and officials of these regimes:
- Legislative Decree No. 728
- Legislative Decree No. 1057
- Law No. 30057 (Civil Service)
- No. 29709 (Special Public Penitentiary Career)
- Law No. 28091 (diplomats)
In addition to making official the increase in monthly remuneration for public sector workers, the Government approved the Single Consolidated Amount (MUC) 2024 for public servants and civil servants under the regime of Legislative Decree No. 276, with amounts that vary between S/ 777 and S/1,163 according to the remuneration level of the occupational group.
When will the salary of state workers be increased?
According to the Centralized Collective Agreement 2023-2024, the first salary increase of S/50 was made in January 2024. For this December 31, the second increase of S/50 is planned, which is part of the public budget and has been planned without compromising the financial sustainability of the State.
For this remuneration improvement to be effective, employees of national and regional government entities must be registered in the Computer Application for the Centralized Registry of Payrolls and Human Resources Data of the Public Sector (AIRSHP) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). ). In accordance with article 2 of Emergency Decree No. 038-2006, the total monthly income of servers, directors and officials must not exceed S/15,600.
MEF proposes raising the salary of public workers to S/23 per month by 2025
Within the framework of the collective bargaining process that must end at the end of June, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) proposes an average increase of S/23 per month that would be applied from 2025. For this purpose, it is estimated that the increase reaches 1 million 64,015 public employees. According to the MEF, the fiscal space for all levels amounts to S/300 million.
