The celebrations for the Inti Raymi and the San Juan Festival, scheduled to take place next week in different regions of the country, would mobilize more than 196,000 people, generating an economic impact of more than S/72 million, according to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Elizabeth Galdo.
“These festivities represent a significant source of income for regional and local economies. In addition, they are important generators of jobs. It is a clear example of the importance of tourism for Peru,” indicated the head of Mincetur.
Along these lines, he explained that, as estimated by the General Directorate of Research and Studies in Tourism and Crafts of Mincetur, The Inti Raymi in Cusco is expected to contribute S/43 million to the local economy and the San Juan Festival will contribute S/29 million to the regions of Loreto, Ucayali, San Martín, Madre de Dios and Huánuco.
The Inti Raymi festival is expected to reach approximately 45,500 visitors; that is, 26.4% more compared to 2023. On the other hand, attendees at the San Juan Festival, one of the most emblematic and anticipated festivities in the Peruvian jungle, would reach 150,500, 50.5% more than the year past.
