He Supervisory Body for Private Investments in Telecommunications (Osiptel) decided to declare the appeal filed by the company Telefónica del Perú founded ‘in part’. This decision results in the company that operates under the Movistar brand paying, on average, S/ 772,500 of more than S/ 1 million soles with which it was initially fined.

This measure was published this Thursday the 20th in the official gazette A Peruvian manwhere it was decided to reduce the financial penalty imposed by the Administrative Tribunal for the Resolution of User Claims (TRASU).

Telefónica: they reduce the fine from 246.40 UTI to 150 UIT

Resolution No. 00155-CD/OSIPTEL indicates that in order not to affect the right of the telephone company, it is decided to reduce the fine imposed from 246.40 UIT to 150 UIT (the latter is the maximum limit of serious fractions).

Why did Osiptel fine Telefónica?

The initial sanction imposed by Osiptel to Telephone dates back to April 24, 2024, when the Administrative Tribunal for Settlement of User Claims (TRASU) imposed a fine on Telefónica del Perú for failure to comply with 451 resolutions issued in claims procedures during the period from July to December 2022.
