The increase in national production was due to the progress of the Agricultural and Manufacturing sectors, but Mining and hydrocarbons, Financial and Accommodation and restaurants fell.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Peru grew 5.28% in April 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year, thus recovering the previous drop of 0.28% that occurred in March, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics ( INEI).
This is the greatest progress of the Peruvian economy since December 2021, even above previous projections, including that of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) itself.
The accumulated growth between January and April of this year was 2.38%, while the annualized photograph showed an advance of 0.30%, according to the statistical institute.
The increase in national production was due to the progress of the Agricultural and Manufacturing sectors, and with less impact due to the progress in Construction, Fishing, Transportation, Commerce, Telecommunications, Services Provided to Companies, Electricity, Gas and Water and Other services.
However, the Mining and hydrocarbons, Financial and Accommodation and restaurants sectors showed a decrease. It should be noted that national production in most economic sectors was favored by two more days of productive activity in the absence of the Easter holidays.
