In a recent operation, the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) carried out coercive collection actions in 12 casinos in Lima, accumulating tax debts that exceed S/3 million. The intervention included seizures of assets and bank accounts. This operation seeks to ensure compliance with the obligations prosecutors and the recovery of amounts owed.

The action, which involved sixty officials, was carried out in multiple districts of the capital. Sunat made coercive charges to 12 casinos: what happened?

In an intervention aimed at recovering tax debts, the Sunat seized assets and bank accounts of twelve casinos in Lima. This measure affected establishments in San Isidro, La Victoria, Lince, RĂ­mac and Ate, accumulating more than S/3 million in debts. The intervened taxpayers maintained significant debts and had not complied with their tax obligations.

The intervention included seizures in the form of collections, ensuring that the casinos’ income is used to pay the debts they maintain with the tax entity. This action is part of the last phase of the collection process, known as coercive collectionused when taxpayers do not respond to previous payment calls.
