The new law will allow companies that are not domiciled in Peru to also have a window that allows users to hear their complaints.
With 115 votes in favor and one abstention, the Plenary Session of Congress approved, in the first vote, the replacement text of the opinion issued in bill 7117, which modifies Law 29571 of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code, in order to Ensure that digital e-commerce platforms also have a complaints book.
ANDThe project seeks to solve the impossibility of filing complaints or claims with companies that, although they operate in Peru, are not domiciled in our country.with more than 90% of users making some type of purchase of a good or service through digital channels.
From now on, not only will the provision of a virtual complaints book be required, but also the possibility of “effectively making it visible” so that consumers and mobile application users can access it easily and quickly.
“Mobile applications that operate in the country display, in a visible, permanent and easily accessible place, the link to the Claims Book,” describes the replacement standard.
This change must be regulated within a maximum period of 30 days from the date of publication of this law approved in the official newspaper El Peruano, coming into effect the day after its regulation.
