Mining and infrastructure projects that are part of the Prioritized List of Projects (LPP) monitored by the Specialized Investment Monitoring Team (EESI) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), registered an increase of 27.8% in its investment execution, compared to a similar period in 2023.

The aforementioned project portfolio is made up of large-scale investments from different economic sectors, mainly private and public-private investment. It is estimated that in 2024 the total execution will reach US$3,306 million.

The increase is mainly due to the greater execution of the mining projects in the portfolio, which recorded a joint investment amount of US$240 million, thus exceeding by US$140 million the amount they executed during the first quarter of 2023.

Likewise, investments in infrastructure projects reached US$339 million, due to the progress of emblematic projects such as the Expansion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport (US$134 million), Line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metro (US$91 million) and Port Terminal Chancay Multipurpose (US$54 million), which presented increases of 31%, 47% and 103%, respectively, compared to the January-March 2023 period.

The greatest execution of investments has been possible as the respective projects obtained permits and certifications from different sectors of the National Government, which ensure that their development is sustainable and in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework.

With the support of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in coordination and monitoring, in the first quarter of this year, 21 procedures were unblocked, a figure that is 61.5% higher than the 13 that concluded in the same period last year.
