The price of electricity continues unstoppable in its climb and this Friday will reach 231.82 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), the second highest record in history.
The price of electricity closed September 44% more expensive that in the same month of 2020, while compared to August it became more expensive by 10.9% despite the tax cuts to stop the escalation of the electricity bill.
The rise in the price of electricity, which a year earlier it had fallen 0.1%, has been the main factor that has raised the Consumer price index (CPI) in September at 4% year-on-year.
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), without the impact of the tax cuts, electricity would have risen 61.1% year-on-year and the CPI would have shot up to 4.5%.
In addition, the gas price Natural and city gas rose 4.1% year-on-year in September, compared to 8.1% a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the average daily price of electricity continues to climb unstoppable and will rise this friday october 15 7.5% compared to the price of this Thursday. It will reach the 231.82 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), which makes it the second highest record in history.
The highest price this Friday will be between 09:00 and 10:00, when it will reach 265 euros / MWh, while the lowest will be recorded between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with 201.06 euros / MWh.
