This procedure, known as ex officio refund, will be aimed at those taxpayers who meet certain requirements established by the state entity. How do I know if I am entitled to the Sunat tax refund?

- First, you must access the official page of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) through the link available HERE.
- Once on the website, enter your DNI number along with the corresponding verification digit.
- Subsequently, provide your date of birth in the indicated format, making sure to enter the correct day, month, and year.
- Then, you must enter the security code that appears on the screen. This is usually made up of a series of alphanumeric characters that guarantee the security of the query.
- Once all the required fields are completed, you must click on the button ‘Consult’ for the system to process the information provided.
According to what is established on the website of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration, it is important to highlight that the ex officio refund is made exclusively through an account credit. In this sense, it is required that the number of Interbank Account Code (CCI) at SUNAT to be able to carry out said process.

Who will be able to access the Sunat tax refund?
According to the information provided by the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), only those taxpayers who receive income from fourth and/or fifth category labor income, and who do not have income of foreign origin that must be incorporated into these, they will benefit from the refund automatically.
Likewise, those people who requested an electronic ticket with their National Identity Document (DNI) when making purchases in bars, restaurants and hotels, will have the benefit of receiving up to 3 Tax Tax Units (UIT), which is equivalent to S/15,450.
