More than 232,000 withdrawal requests from private pension funds were registered until Tuesday, May 28, as reported by the AFP Association on its social networks. During these last two weeks, affiliates whose last digit of their National Identity Document is 1,2,3 and 4 have registered.
However, this free and digital procedure has not been free of some errors that delayed the process and that tend to be repeated every time citizens try to start their withdrawal request on the official website. To speed up registration and respect the deadlines stipulated in the schedule, the AFP Association provides some recommendations in this regard.
Follow the last digit of your ID
Through social networks, many affiliates have expressed their confusion when registering their AFP withdrawal request, since they do not usually differentiate between the last number of their DNI and the verification digit. This causes errors and notifications that it is not yet the established day to carry out the procedure.
Faced with this type of situation, the AFP Association published a video on its “X” account to remind that the last digit of the DNI is the one that must be considered to follow the schedule. Let’s take an example: if your DNI is 70417281, the number to use is 1. Remember that you should not confuse it with the digit that appears after a hyphen under any circumstances, since that is the verifier.
Comply with withdrawal schedule
Some people return home after working or studying and have not been able to send their AFP withdrawal request. It turns out that the time to carry out this procedure can only be done from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. To avoid this inconvenience, it is important to remember that there is a schedule prepared based on the last digit of each affiliate’s ID.
Check account details
It is essential to review the information of the bank account where the withdrawn funds are received. In the case of a freely available account, there are voluntary contributions, which are independent of the mandatory contribution account to the retirement pension fund. In other words, the AFP member has the option of freeing up their money and allocating it to investments according to their preferences. Keep in mind that many people often confuse this option, therefore, if you want your savings to be transferred directly to your bank account, you should skip this step.
Write the withdrawal amount correctly
Before registering your AFP withdrawal request, make sure you know the maximum amount you can release according to your available balance. It is necessary that you enter the amount of money you want to request exactly to avoid problems. For example: if you have a balance of S/15,000 and you want to withdraw only a part, you can enter S/13,500. Also, you have the possibility of requesting that all of your money be delivered to you. Do not write the digits in ITU.
AFP Retirement 2024: Recommendations to take into account
According to the scope of Law No. 32002 and SBS Resolution No. 01623-2024, AFP members may make a single withdrawal of up to 4UIT (S/20,600) from their individual capitalization accounts. Said payment will be made in four installments of up to 1 UIT (S/5,150) each and with a period between disbursements of approximately one month. Next, review these recommendations from the AFP Association:
- Only one withdrawal request is allowed and all data recorded must belong to the requester.
- If you have a transfer request in process, the withdrawal can be made without problems. Both the AFP of origin and the destination will be in charge of coordinating the payment schedule.
- It is important to keep in mind that withdrawal amounts may be subject to withholdings for food debts of up to 30%, which will be applied at the time of debiting the AFP account.
- The amount to be deposited will vary depending on the available balance that the affiliate has at the time of payment. The AFP will make the first disbursement within a maximum period of 30 days from the submission of the request and the following payments, if applicable, will be paid 30 days from the day following each disbursement made. The application must be submitted following the schedule, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm except holidays.
