Nowadays, it is almost impossible to imagine banking processes without the help of digital wallets. According to the latest Yape report, the electronic wallet of the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) It began the year 2024 with a base of 14 million users. That is, almost one in two Peruvians uses this application.
This demonstrates the revolution that digital technology has brought in the way of banking transactions. Yape, founded in 2016, modified the maximum limit of money allowed for monetary transactions.

Yape adjusted the maximum money limit allowed for a monetary transaction. Previously, one could pay up to S/500 per day, but the new limit has been set at S/950.
It should be noted that both limit options are still available and, once the application is downloaded, the system has the amount of S/500 integrated as the default option.
How to change to the new amount to be paid per day?
If you want to change to the new maximum amount of S/950, you must follow these steps:
- Download the app Yape from official platforms, such as Play Store.
- Press the notifications button, located in the upper right part of the cell phone, represented by a bell symbol.
- Enter the ‘Yapea up to S/950 per day’ option within the ‘News’ category.
- After this, a text box will appear on the cell phone screen explaining the decision you are about to make. If you want to continue, press the ‘Go to change limit’ option.
- The application will automatically direct you to a page where you must copy and paste the code displayed on the screen and your email. You only have five tries to copy the code exactly the same, so you have to be careful with capitalization. Once this is done, press ‘Continue’.
- A message will be sent to the email address registered in the previous step. You must open it and repeat the process with a 6-digit code.
- Enter your personal information (National Identity Document or cell phone number) to confirm to the system that you are making the change to the correct account. It should be noted that your username Yape – BCP must be registered with one of these informations. If you do not have a DNI but rather an immigration card, you must carry out the process with the cell phone number.
- As a last step, confirm your intention to increase the amount.
As additional information, the transfers made cannot exceed S/500 each, so if you want to transfer a larger amount it must be done in two different transaction processes.
