Fonavi 2024: what will happen to Fonavistas who have NOT received any payment?

In April 2024, Banco de la Nación began paying Fonavistas in reimbursement group 1, those included in lists 1 to 19 and who had previously received smaller amounts. This step marked significant progress in the return of Fonavi contributions, but left questions about the fate of those who have not yet received any payment.

In an interview with La República, Jorge Milla, member of the Ad Hoc Commission representing the National Federation of Fonavistas and Pensioners Association of Peru (Fenaf Perú), provided details about the upcoming payments and the planned changes. Below, we detail what is known so far about schedule 21 and refund group 2 payments.

What will happen to those who have not received any refund from Fonavi?

List 21 is one of the next steps in the process of returning Fonavi contributions. This group will include people who managed to credit their contributions, but who have not yet received any payment. According to Jorge Milla, the Ad Hoc Commission and the Technical Secretariat are collaborating to prepare this list, using data provided by the ONP.

“The ONP has sent important data from a sector of Fonavistas and with that it will allow group 21 to be drawn up. I estimate that it should be around September. Next week we should have a more exact date, for now I still have it.” we are defining,” Milla explained.

When does payment to reimbursement group 2 begin?

Jorge Milla indicated that payments for beneficiaries of reimbursement group 2 will begin in approximately two months.

“Two months and we start with refund 2, which must be between the first or second week of Julyand we are also seeing what it will be like, since there will be a rethinking in this group,” Milla commented.

What are the possible changes for beneficiaries in reimbursement group 2?

To avoid saturation of the Banco de la Nación, it is proposed to include in refund group 2 not only heirs of deceased Fonavistas, but also living former taxpayers between 77 and 80 years old. This measure seeks to reduce document congestion and accelerate the process of returning contributions.

“There are more than 170,000 people who would have heirs and would approach the Banco de la Nación to complete the heir procedure, so there would be a documentary congestion in the entity; therefore, we want to reconsider this issue. The Technical Secretariat is preparing a report to so that the Ad Hoc Commission can see how to face the refund 2. The list is probably people between 77 and 80 years old who are alive; it is not yet defined“Milla stated.

Fonavi refund: what documents do the heirs of Fonavistas need?

The heirs must first check if the deceased Fonavista appears on any of the published lists. Then, they must present a sworn statement at any agency of the Banco de la Nación, along with the DNI and other relevant documents, which vary depending on their relationship with the deceased:

  • Death certificate of the Fonavista.
  • Marriage certificate or proof of de facto union if the applicant is the spouse or partner.
