Through DS 009-2024-EM, the Government approved the license contract for the exploitation of Lot Perupetro.

The regulations, published in an extraordinary edition of El Peruano this Sunday, May 19, occur a few hours after the contract of the Chinese company CNPC in the most important lot in the northwest expires.

It is worth adding that Petroperú, after the privatization carried out in the nineties, returns with 40% to Lot X, which covers 70% of the production in that basin.

This is the fourth lot in the northwest that Petroperú will assume after temporarily taking over Lot I, VI and Z-69; added to the fact that the exploitation of Lot 192 with Altamesa – the largest in terms of reserves in the jungle – will soon begin.
