Following the resignation of Luis Alberto García as general director of Hydrocarbons of Minem, on Thursday, May 2, after completing one year in the position, Jorge Arnao Arana was appointed to the position considered to be trustworthy.

Through extraordinary edition, through ministerial resolution No. 189-2024-MINEM/DM, Rómulo Mucho, head of Minem, approved the new appointment in the portfolio.

It is important to highlight that García was managing the expansion of the budget assigned for the massification of natural gas through the Bono Gas Fise program to the Ministry of Economy and Financesince this would have been 20% lower than in 2023.

In that sense, it would be up to Jorge Arnao to become aware of the massification policies, before participating in the working groups of the new budget.
