Chancay megaport: landing is at 93%

Sergio González Guerrero, Minister of Production, explained that the work of the artisanal fishing landing (DPA) of Chancay has an investment of more than S/23 million and is currently more than 90% complete. In addition, he emphasized that, once completed, 3,000 people would benefit, including fishermen and their families.

“This large megaport will position Peru as an economic leader in the region, it will help export our products to Asia, especially China. Likewise, it will give greater viability to works such as the Ancón Industrial Park,” stated the head of the Ministry of Production.

In this sense, it is intended to reactivate and promote the construction of the Ancón Industrial Park in around 1,300 hectares – one of the largest land reserves within the urban fabric of Metropolitan Lima – with US$753 million dollars in charge of ProInversión. In this way, 120,000 jobs would be generated.

This work, together with the expansion of the Jorge Chávez airport and the Chancay DPA, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the second quarter of the year, would be engines for the development of the country. These large-scale projects would be part of the goal to increase the industry’s share of GDP—currently at 10%—by 16% by 2030.
