After the promulgation of the law that authorizes a new withdrawal from private pension funds, many AFP members wonder about the deadline for the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) to publish the regulations of the operating procedure to carry out this disbursement up to 4 UIT (S/20,600).
Along these lines, parliamentarian Digna Calle sent a letter to the SBS so that this process can be accelerated and not wait until the last day to regulate it. Below, we tell you the main scope of Law No. 32002 that authorizes the extraordinary and optional release of the AFPs, as well as its final complementary provision.
AFP Withdrawal 2024: what is the deadline for the SBS to regulate the law?
According to Law No. 32002, members of the Private Pension System will be able to access the withdrawal of up to 4 UIT (S/20,600) from their individual capitalization accounts. However, the operational procedure to make this disbursement is not yet possible, since the SBS must publish the regulations for the standard.
“The Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP will determine, through regulations, the operating procedure for withdrawal within a period that will not exceed 15 calendar days, counted from the entry into force of the law, under the responsibility of its owner,” reads in the only final complementary provision of the law that authorizes the seventh release of AFP funds.
That is, the deadline to regulate the seventh AFP withdrawal expires on Friday, May 3. After that, the four AFPs (Habitat, Prima, Integra and Profuturo) must publish the dates of applications and payments in which the disbursement would be made.
When could I access the AFP withdrawal? Check the possible dates
The rule published in the El Peruano newspaper last Thursday, April 18, establishes that the optional and extraordinary withdrawal of up to 4 UITs from the AFP would be carried out in four fleets, each with up to 1 UIT. That is, up to S/5,150. According to the finance specialist at Pacífico Business School, Jorge Carrillo Acosta, these would be the eventual dates:
- Start of 1st withdrawal (up to 1 UIT): June 12, 2024 (30 calendar days after request).
- Start of 2nd withdrawal (up to 1 UIT): July 12, 2024 (30 calendar days after first withdrawal).
- Start of the 3rd withdrawal (up to 1 UIT): August 11, 2024 (30 calendar days after the second withdrawal).
- Start of the 4th withdrawal (up to 1 UIT): September 10, 2024 (30 calendar days after the third withdrawal).
It is worth mentioning that the deadline to request withdrawals would expire on Sunday, August 11 of this year, 90 days after the start of the operating procedure.

Based on the experiences of previous withdrawals from the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP), have the following documents on hand that you must keep updated:
- Identity document, name, telephone number and email of each member.
- Account number in an entity that is in the name of the beneficiary.
- The digital key of the AFP to which you belong.
- The web password for your bank account.
