Dollar closes higher at S/3.6990 today, Monday, April 22

The exchange rate closed this Monday, April 22, at S/3.6990, representing an increase of 0.43% compared to the last day where it stood at S/3.6830, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru ( BCRP).

In the parallel market, the greenback is at S/3.68 for purchase and S/3.72 for sale; while in banking, the purchase and sale is at S/3.70 and S/3,731, respectively.

Allisson Pérez, Foreign Exchange Trader at Renta4 SAB, points out that during the day, the market did not have much volatility and that the maturities of Exchange Swaps Sale for S/300 million allowed the renewal of S/50 million. Likewise, S/250 million was allowed to expire, reaching a maximum level of S/3.6990 and US$209 million were traded in the market at an average price of S/3.6937.

On the other hand, at a global level, the euro zone is awaiting the appearance of the president of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde. While the markets are awaiting the results of the GDP of the United States, soon to be published this Thursday, explains Pérez.

So far this year, the dollar has accumulated a variation of -0.22% and in year-on-year terms, -1.67%, according to the BCRP.
