Myperú Impulse: new auctions assign S/1,630 million in guarantees

The Development Bank of Peru – Cofide reported that, after the last two auctions of the Impulso Myperú program, more than S/12,130 million in guarantees have been auctioned, which represents more than 81% of the total fund.

In these two editions, S/750 million were allocated with coverage of 90% and 98% for loans to micro and small businesses at a weighted average rate of 16.34%, and S/880 million with coverage of 70% and 80%. for loans to medium-sized companies at a weighted average rate of 12.26%.

It should be noted that the rates obtained are below that offered by the Financial System for sector loans and will be transferred to the final beneficiaries, which will represent savings for them and a boost to their growth.

In these auctions, 17 financial entities participated: CMAC Sullana, Del Santa, Trujillo, Cusco, Huancayo, Arequipa and Piura; the banks BCP, Interbank, BBVA, Pichincha, de Comercio and Alfin; the Financial Confidence; CRAC Incasur; COOPAC Abaco; and the Alternative Credit Company.

It should be noted that, as of April 5, the Impulso Myperú program has allowed the disbursement of credits for more than S/4,442 million, for the benefit of more than 136,000 entrepreneurs throughout the country.

“24% of these beneficiaries accessed credit to purchase fixed assets, 36% for working capital, while 40% used it to consolidate their debts,” said Cofide.

It is important to mention that, of the amount disbursed, 35% corresponds to Lima (well below its weight on the country’s GDP) and 65% to other regions led by Arequipa (8%), Puno (7%), La Libertad (6%) and Piura (5%).
