Ministry of Economy rejects proposals on the withdrawal of 100% of the CTS

Minister José Arista threatens not to touch the current law, in which Compensation for Time of Service cannot be available if it exceeds a surplus of 4 salaries.

After the Labor Commission and the Economy Commission of Congress approved two opinions that authorize a new release of 100% of the Compensation for Time of Service (CTS), the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Arista, expressed his rejection and proposed not to disrupt current legislation.

In a press conference, he assured that “a minimum” of four months of unemployment should be respected to access the CTS, since that is the average time it takes for a person to re-enter the labor market. Arista’s statement left more doubts than certainties, and when consulted by La República, the MEF clarified that the minister was referring to withdrawing the money, but leaving at least four salaries.

Thus, Arista’s position is similar to that governed by Law 30334, which establishes that only the surplus of four salaries can be used in your CTS.

Likewise, Minister Arista also referred to the autograph that gives the green light to the withdrawal of 4 UITs from the AFP – already in the hands of the Executive Branch – and assured that they will not observe it.

“What has been agreed today is not to observe the rule, responding to the high vote that this rule has received in Congress. “We see that it is not appropriate to delay the promulgation of this rule any further,” mentioned to the media.
