Price of chicken varies between S/8 and S/10 per kilo in retail markets

According to the latest report on poultry marketing and prices, published today by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), the average price per kilo of chicken in retail markets was around S/10.47 last week. However, the sale of chicken decreased today to S/10 per kilo in the Chacra Colorada market and up to S/8 in the San Juan de Lurigancho market.

On the other hand, chicken eggs ranged between S/8.78 and S/9 per kilo in the last three days. However, today it reached prices of S/9.20 per kilo in the El Bosque market and S/10.60 per kilo in the Chacra Colorada market, S/0.70 and S/0.20 more than before respectively in each market.

Likewise, according to the income and price report in the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), the kilo of potatoes, one of the most representative tubers in our country, reached an average of S/1.68 in the last seven days. Today it is S/2.50 per kilo in the La Aurora market, while in the Chacra Colorada market it is S/1.40 per kilo.

On the other hand, the bag of lemon also in the wholesale market – equivalent to 45 kilos – has a value of S/80.18, which would be S/1.78 per kilo. Meanwhile, in retail markets, such as the San Juan de Lurigancho market, a kilo of lemon arrives at S/3.50 and in the Limoncillo market at S/3.20.

As for the dozen of American lettuce – equivalent to 6 kilos – it reached S/9.50 in the wholesale market, the kilo being S/1.58. While a kilo of lettuce in the San Juan de Lurigancho market reached S/3.50. On the other hand, lentils remained at S/8 per kilo in the San Juan de Lurigancho market and dropped to S/7.50 in the El Bosque market. In this last market, rice remained at S/3.30 per kilo, but reached S/4.50 in the Chacra Colorada market.
