The employment data, published by the INEC, reveal that for people between 15 and 25 years of age, the employment indicators deteriorated.

Data from the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) this December 22, reveal that the unemployment rate increased in November for the population between 15 and 24 years old.
Until the eleventh month of the year, this segment recorded a 39.9% rate. An increase if compared to November 2020 when it reached 35.8%. If the previous month is taken into account, there is also a 2.7% increase in the same indicator.
Despite the fact that unemployment grew in this population group, for 25-64 year olds if it improved. In fact, this allowed the global indicator to stand at 4.4% until November, 1.2% less than the same month in 2020.
Gender gaps are also evident in unemployment. As of November, 6 out of 10 women are unemployed compared to 3 out of 10 men who are unemployed.
Other indicators
As of November of this year, suitable employment, where you earn at least the basic one and work 40 hours a week, had an increase of 5.2 percentage points. According to the data of the DROWNING, in November 2020 it was 28.5% and last month it reached 33.7%.

The best performance of this labor index is evidenced, above all, in the urban sector. The rural area has maintained its rate without great variation.
Underemployment, on the other hand, was located at a rate of 24.5%; a slight increase when compared to 2020 when it reached 24.1%. The underemployed are those who earn less than Basic salary and they work less than 40 hours a week.
On gender issues, until last November, the rate of suitable employment for men it was located at 39% and at 26.5% for women. Compared to November 2020, this rate improved by at least 5 percentage points for both men and women.
In eleven months of the year, the average labor income of a man with a job was $ 319.3, while for a woman with a job it was $ 262.1. (I)
