Fuerza Popular conditions new withdrawal of AFP and asks that they incorporate reforms

Parliamentarians from the orange bench requested that the debate be moved to a recess, with the aim of adding new rules that promote a reform in the pension system.

The debate on the AFP withdrawal is still pending in the Plenary Session of Congress. Fuerza Popular conditioned the disbursement of up to 4 UIT, arguing that a pension reform. Through a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the orange bench stated its position regarding the ruling that seeks to release up to S/20,600.

What did Fuerza Popular say about the AFP debate?

Fuerza Popular urged the Plenary Session of Congress to organize an interim room; that is, a brief interruption of the session, to add the requested reforms. It was legislator Eduardo Castillo who made this request during his participation.

“Regarding the withdrawal of the 4 ITUs, we call for reflection. We cannot disappoint the trust of the Peruvian people. It is time to act with responsibility and vision of the future,” can be read on the platform.

For his part, the parliamentarian and also president of the Economy Commission, César Revilla, was in favor of his colleague’s request and asked to enter a recess until 3:00 pm “I accept the intermission quarter so that what the colleagues have mentioned. As the first point at 3:00 pm when (the debate) restarts, it is put to the vote so that everyone can decide,” added the legislator.
