Between January and February of this year, Peruvian shipments abroad totaled US$10,339 million, 9.1% more than in 2023, reported by the Association of Exporters (Adex).
After the 4.7% drop recorded last August, the following six months brought blue figures: September (3%), October (8.1%), November (15%), December (1.1%), January (12.9%) and February (5.4%).
According to Adex, in the first two months, traditional shipments totaled US$7,305 million (+14.6%) and value-added shipments, US$3,034 million (-2.1%).
However, the union is concerned about the sectoral slowdown compared to previous years, considering that of 14 items, half are negative.
“The complex situation affects the expectations of some key sectors for the national economy. “It is time for a transformation of the political class,” said Julio Pérez Alván, president of Adex.
Pérez Alván alleges that if agreements are not reached to transform our natural resources, the poverty rate will continue to grow.
