Yape confirms that transactions within its app will have no charges and will continue to be free

This week, the famous company Yape put a large part of the public on alert after announcing its new update: Yape Empresas. This announcement left thousands of users confused, since one of the most important details they highlighted was that a 2.95% charge would be made for the total number of transactions on the day.

Yape has become one of the most important wallets for a large part of Peruvians and, in fact, many find it essential in their daily lives. Therefore, it is understandable that a change of this magnitude generates a series of doubts among all users.

Shortly after Yape Empresas’ announcement and the charging of an additional amount, many wondered if this measure would be general for everyone who makes transactions. When in doubt, the company issued an official statement to clarify the circumstances in which a commission will be charged.

Will Yape charge per transaction?

“Yape is and remains free for its more than 15 million Yaperos. No Yapero is charged a commission for using Yape when sending or receiving money directly to the cell phone number or through QR code.”he pointed Rufino Arribas, leader of Yape. With this statement, Yape confirms that he will not proceed to make any type of charge for transaction, payment, transfer or collection.

However, if the 5 UITs are exceeded (S/25,750), they will not be able to receive more yapeos until the following month and the person could consider the possibility of accessing this new business service promoted by BCP.

Who will pay commission with Yape Empresas?

Only those who join Yape Empresas will be charged a commission. This new experience offers its users the ability to make transactions greater than S/25,750 per month, among other functions.

“This service has a cost of 2.95% on the day’s sales, and offers various benefits, such as adding assistants, generating sales reports, sending limits and receiving higher yapeos, among others”declared Rufino Arribas, Leader of Yape.

Another factor that Rufino Arribas mentioned is who Yape Empresas is aimed at. He highlighted that, of the more than 15 million users, only 0.5% exceed the maximum amount monthly receipt of 5 UIT (25,750 soles). That is, the remaining 99.5% of its users do not exceed this amount. In addition, he assured that entrepreneurs and micro-entrepreneurs are not required to join Yape Empresas either.

As the name of this new product says, it is clearly aimed at large companies, which need Yape to cover their needs to be able to work more freely.
