The Confederation of Public Transporters of La Libertad demanded that the Congress of the Republic unblock Bill 679, which establishes a levelized rate for natural gas throughout the country.

Taxi drivers, minibuses and transporters who use Vehicular Natural Gas (NGV) are facing difficulties due to the lack of a level rate that allows them to equitably access this energy resource, as they pay up to 70% more than what it costs in the capital. .

“NGV could be a cheaper alternative compared to other fuels, however, its potential has not been exploited due to the lack of promotion and the absence of a clear policy by the State for its widespread use in the provinces,” he stressed. the guild

In the same way, they pointed out that it is unfeasible for LPG to continue being the most used and promoted fuel in all provinces.

“This is the product of unfair competition generated by the State that allows it to have the most economical price in the market compared to NGV,” said Trujillo leader Gustavo Palma.

The union demands the approval of the bill that will allow a level rate that includes all regulated users (900,000 cubic meters per month), without discrimination, that allows them to guarantee the supply to CNG users; as well as SMEs, local companies, entrepreneurs and Peruvian families without distinction.

“The level rate for all regulated clients would be key to establishing a competitive price that promotes investment in regional industries, encourages the use of CNG for Peruvians, and expands natural gas networks to reach more areas, benefiting vulnerable families,” concluded Palma.
