The airline announced on December 21 that “as a result of the effort to control the spread of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, it has made the decision, together with the Ecuadorian Aeronautical Authority, to suspend the final stage of certification of the airline and postpone the start of operations ”.

Until January 10, 2022, according to the statement, Equair expects to start its operations on a national scale.
The company highlighted that, one of the reasons for making the decision and avoiding spreading the virus, is because within the human certification team made up of Equair and the aeronautical authority “there have been several cases of Covid in the last 48 hours.”
