AFP withdrawal 2024: how much is 1 UIT equivalent in soles?

The Economy Commission approved by majority, with 17 votes in favor and 3 against, the new AFP withdrawal of up to 4 UIT, although the debate in the Plenary still needs to be positive for it to be promulgated in El Peruano and the insurers will be see the obligation to disburse their contributions to Peruvians.

If you are interested in having this fourth withdrawal approved, you want to have your money and you want to know how many Tax Units (UIT) there are in your account, in this note we will tell you the updated amount of this value.

AFP Retirement 2024: how much is 1 UIT worth?

As officially announced, the Government of Dina Boluarte has established the new value of the Tax Tax Unit (UIT) for the year 2024 at S/5,150. This represents an increase of S/200 compared to the previous year, and affects the amount of the proposal for the withdrawal of AFP.

What does the AFP 2024 universal retirement proposal approved by the Economic Commission say?

In the morning, the Economy Commission decided to present a new document containing an agreement between several political parties. This agreement establishes that affiliates may submit their withdrawal requests, either physically or virtually, within a period of 90 days from the publication and entry into force of the regulations of this law.

The first payment will be equivalent to 1 UIT (S/5,150) and will be made every 30 days. This first disbursement will be made 30 days after the application is submitted to the private pension fund administrator to which the applicant is affiliated.

The second payment will also be 1 UIT and will be made 30 days after the first withdrawal. Finally, the third payment will be up to 2 UIT (S/10,300), counted from the previous withdrawal. It is important to note that in the latter case, the amount can be less than or equal to 2 UIT, it does not necessarily have to be that exact value.

What happens if the member’s funds are not enough to cover the full amount of 1 or 2 UIT in the first and second withdrawal? This will depend on the regulations that are established, since the current wording prepared by the Economic Commission suggests that the affiliate must have sufficient funds to withdraw the exact amount.

Furthermore, if members decide not to withdraw funds from their Individual Capitalization Account (CIC), they may request it, on a single occasion, from the private pension fund administrator, 10 days before the corresponding disbursement.
