Lot Z-62: Minem reconfigures areas for Anadarko oil exploration

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reconfigured the areas contained in Annexes “A” and “B” of the license contract signed with the transnational Anadarko for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Lot Z-62, located in La Libertad. .

The objective is to encourage exploration activities. Perupetro sources informed La República that this modification of the contract does not imply an increase or decrease in areas, therefore, “the activities planned in its work program are maintained.”

In December 2023, Perupetro requested Minem to approve the project to modify the license contract for Lot Z-62. Finally, the changes were materialized through Supreme Decree No. 006-2024-EM.

Six months earlier, Anadarko had confirmed the existence of oil in the La Libertad Sea. The company is expected to begin its seismic work between the months of March and April 2024, with the aim of putting them into production around 2027.
