The price of the dollar today, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 opens at 3.9913 soles, according to the Bloomberg portal. The greenback has been declining in value since the appointment of Mirtha Vásquez as prime minister. On the other hand, in the parallel market the exchange rate is S / 3,980 for the purchase and S / 4,020 for the sale. As for Sunat, this state entity quotes the greenback at S / 4,062 for the purchase and S / 4,067 for the sale.
Regarding the economic plane, the Minister of Economy, Pedro Francke, said last Tuesday that the business sector will maintain its investments in our country. “Investors are in very good spirits to continue investing in Peru,” he told the press after meeting with the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vásquez and various executives from the transport and mining sector. Francke Ballvé added that “the dollar continues to fall and there is more confidence to be able to have external financing” and stressed that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has ratified the growth of the national economy for next year.
In that sense, the IMF yesterday released positive data on the recovery of the Latin American economy in 2021, despite the high inflation expected for this year. For the organization, the Peruvian economy will grow at a rate of 10% in 2021, thus becoming one of the strongest in the region. Last April, the IMF had advanced a projection of the Peruvian economy of 8.5% for this year. According to this new assessment, the benefits of higher prices for some materials could be fundamental for metal exporting countries, including Peru.
