The National Central Union of Retirees and Pensioners of Peru (Cenajupe) announced that this Thursday, March 14, a day of protest will be held to demand that Dina Boluarte’s regime comply with raising pensions.

They allege that pensioners “are subject to discrimination” by the Boluarte management, since despite the economic recession, they receive “tip pensions.” Even in mid-2023, the head of state promised an increase of S/100 and from then on, she has remained silent.

In his opinion, They give a “declaration of slow death to all pensioners who sacrificed their working lives in the service of the country”, and for this reason, from 10:00 am this Thursday the 14th, they will go to the front of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF ) and Constitutional Court (TC).

Cenajupe is considering adhering to a national hunger strike as the Government does not comply with the periodic readjustment of the pensions it administers – contemplated in the Political Constitution – nor with the ruling 0009-2015-PI/TC that, four years ago, urges to increase the contribution that retirees receive.
