José Arista, Minister of Economy and Finance, pointed out that the Peruvian economy will benefit from the development of the Lima 2027 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
In his opinion, for every dollar invested, “about US$3 or US$4 are the return for the country.”
During his participation in the Peru Mining Investments Summit 2024, the official noted that there will be a significant impact on areas such as tourism, gastronomy and services.
“You reactivate the tourism sector, the restaurants, the productive aspect because there is a lot of demand for services. It is profitable for the country,” he added.
He announced that they will evaluate the expenses that will be required for transportation and accommodation of the athletes who attend the contest, and specified that all the venues would already be ready.
“We will just have to see how the current expenses of the games are financed, because we have to transport all the athletes, we have to put them in a village and fix the city,” I note.
