MTPE launches initiative called National School of Union Studies

The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) approved the intervention called the National School for Trade Union Studies, which aims to expand knowledge of the socio-labor, health and safety regulations at work that correspond to the labor regime of private activity, of union leaders at the national level.

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 253-2021-TR published in the official newspaper El Peruano, it is established that the intervention will be managed and executed by the Directorate for the Promotion of Labor Formalization and Training in Labor Regulations of the General Directorate of Policies for the Promotion of Labor Formalization and Labor Inspection, within the framework of its powers.

During the launching ceremony, the head of the MTPE, Betsy Chávez, pointed out that the National School for Union Studies will serve “not to form unions, but for workers to have legal knowledge in labor matters.”

For his part, President Pedro Castillo added that with this initiative the Government “recognizes the importance and the work carried out by our unions and union leaders for the defense and protection of the rights of the country’s workers.”
