He Jorge Chavez International Airport takes a new step in its expansion with the start of work on a new 5-star hotel run by the Peruvian hotel chain Costa del Sol. With an initial investment of 50 million dollars, this project promises to be a milestone in hotel infrastructure from the country.

Mario Mustafá, president of the Costa del Sol Group, in an interview with Andina, highlighted the importance of this project for the region: “We are sure that it will contribute to Lima becoming the hub of the region.” The luxurious hotel, which will be operated under the Wyndham brand, will have various environments for the different needs of clients.

What hotels will be built at Jorge Chávez Airport?

Costa del Sol plans to build two hotels, one 5-star and the other 3-star. Both hotels will be part of the new Airport City and will expand the hotel offering at the Jorge Chávez Airport.

After intense competition that attracted the attention of investors and promoters of renowned national and international hotel chains, the Peruvian company Costa del Sol won the private competition organized by Lima Airport Partners (LAP). This victory gives him the right to build and operate these two new hotels.

When will the luxury hotels open?

The 5-star Wyndham hotel will open its doors in early 2025, while the 3-star Costa del Sol hotel is scheduled for 2027. These new facilities promise to raise the level of service and comfort for travelers passing through the airport.

“The (5-star) hotel project, which will be located on an area close to 5,000 square meters, will have a private investment of approximately 50 million dollars. It is financed by Credicorp Capital and involves the design, construction and operation, stages in which there is support and experience in the development of large regional projects from companies such as Esparq in the design and Cumbra in the construction. ”Mustafa said.

How many floors and what environments will the hotels have?

The 5-star hotel will have 249 rooms and a wide range of services, including a restaurant, bar, terrace and recreational spaces. On the other hand, the 3-star hotel will offer 338 rooms, a restaurant-bar, terrace, meeting room, coworking, children’s area and gazebo.

“Both hotels will have Leed Silver certification (Leader in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design), which guarantees the highest standards of eco-efficiency and sustainability during their construction,” he added.

Jorge Chávez Airport: what will the design of the hotels be like?

The design of the hotels is inspired by the ancient textiles of the mantles of the Paracas culture.and will thus create a proposal that harmonizes with the new design concept based on the cultural heritage and Peruvian identity that is being implemented at the airport and that enriches the LAP experience for its passengers, users and visitors.

When will the new Jorge Chávez airport be ready?

The Minister of Transportation and Communications, Raúl Pérez Reyes, explained, in a conference last year, that the new Jorge Chávez airport will have excellent infrastructure for the comfort of passengers and thus give a very important pulse to tourist activity.

The official added that the new Jorge Chavez airport will be working correctly in January 2025.
