Sutran: more than 800,000 people used interprovincial transport during long holiday

The Superintendency of Land Transportation of People, Cargo and Merchandise (Sutran) reported that a total of 890,460 passengers were mobilized throughout the country, during the long holiday, from October 8 to 11.

Likewise, this body attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) detailed that during these days the largest number of passengers was mobilized at the interregional level, with a total of 444,240 transferred users.

The number of passengers mobilized from the provinces to the city of Lima reached 233,340; while the total number of users transferred from the capital to the provinces reached 212,880.

Along this line, only between October 8 and 11, the 306 land terminals enabled nationwide scheduled a total of 14,841 trips, under the strict control of the Sutran inspectors.

It should be noted that the Sutran maintains almost a thousand inspectors deployed in 235 points of the country in order to inspect that the units comply with technical requirements, are operational and respect health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These works are carried out jointly with the National Police of Peru.

At the same time, the Management and Monitoring Center (CGM-SUTRAN) performs GPS monitoring of the movement of buses and reports events or incidents that may occur on national roads.
