The National Superintendency of Labor Inspection (Sunafil) received a total of 49,322 employment complaints, in virtual mode, during this year. 85% of these have already been attended; that is, there are still more than 7,000 left.
Although the year is not over yet, the figure far exceeds that registered throughout 2020, when 42,673 complaints were reported through virtual channels.
According to the agency, 29,297 of these complaints are due to non-compliance with the payment of salaries, with this figure as “the highest compared to other matters.”
The second most requested matter is liquidation and payment of social benefits, considered in 21,094 virtual complaints; and the third, arbitrary dismissal, in 17,498 complaints.
Sunafil: Lima, the most reported region
The regions whose workers presented the highest number of virtual complaints were Metropolitan Lima, with 27,571; Callao, with 2,318; La Libertad, with 2016; Arequipa, with 1,936; and Piura, with 1,898.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, Sunafil has intensified the dissemination of the use of its virtual channels, with the aim that workers do not feel unprotected, in the face of possible breaches of their labor rights by their employers,” said the institution.
