The Executive published the Supreme Decree that approves the modification of the license contract of the lot 192 (located in the Peruvian jungle) and, in this sense, Petroperú will transfer 61% of its participation in the aforementioned contract in favor of Altamesa Energy Perú SAC In this way, the Canadian capital company will become the majority partner and operator of the former lot 1-AB.
For its part, Perupetro was authorized to sign with the companies Petroperu and Altamesa, the modification of the License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Lot 192, approved with the signature of the president of the republic Dina Boluarte and the ministers Alex Contreras of Economy and Finance and Oscar Vera of Energy and Mines.
Likewise, this contractual modification specifies that 21 additional development wells are incorporated into the work program of the first period of the exploitation phase, by virtue of what was agreed.
It is expected that the operation of Lot 192 will begin in the first quarter of this year and, as this newspaper learned, the social license is well under way and the day before the start of the remediation work.
It is important to emphasize that as stipulated in the aforementioned project to modify the license contract for lot 192, by virtue of the association agreement for joint investment in the contract, signed by the companies that make up the contractor, Petroperú’s participation in the contract may be increased to 49%.
