The Executive Power has 90 days to legislate on economic and tax management, as well as in the fight against tax evasion and avoidance, to contribute to closing priority social gaps to achieve the well-being of the population, according to the powers delegated by the Congress of the Republic.
This term to legislate is counted from the entry into force of the law, in accordance with the provisions of the Substitute Text of the Opinion of the Constitution and Regulation Commission regarding Law Project No. 583/2021-PE, which was approved with 96 votes in favor by the Plenary of the Congress of the Republic.
“The approval of the request for delegation of powers will allow the country’s economic reactivation to continue through a greater boost to public investment and private investment, continue to improve competition and the competitiveness of the financial system and will contribute to an improvement in tax collection. ”, Said the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke.
It should be noted that the measures approved by the Congress of the Republic will allow a higher collection in the order of 0.20 points of GDP, well below what the country requires to advance in terms of closing gaps in health, education, connectivity and agricultural competitiveness.
For this reason, in the following legislature, the respective bills of the Executive’s tax proposals will be sent to the Congress of the Republic in order to, through a consensual dialogue between the Executive Power and society, to be able to approve a comprehensive tax reform. that allows to substantially increase the permanent income of the country.
“The Ministry of Economy and Finance reaffirms its commitment to fiscal sustainability and improving the efficiency of public spending, also thanks the Congress of the Republic, the Economy and Constitution Commissions for the permanent dialogue and discussion on the scope of the request for delegation of powers, “the statement said.
