Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism has proposed several goals at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2024), which ends in Madrid this Sunday, January 28. In order to achieve this goal, the head of the state portfolio, Niels Olsen, in an interview with the agency EFE, He indicated that the first thing is to “restore confidence in international trade so that they see Ecuador as the country it has always been, that island of peace.” This is due to the critical security situation that Ecuador has experienced in recent weeks and the announcement of an internal armed conflict by President Daniel Noboa.

“We have set quite ambitious goals to be able to connect Ecuador with other destinations, but challenge number one must be solved in order to achieve challenge two. It would be a record number of international arrivals in our country, I feel optimistic and I am convinced that the president’s steps will soon restore peace to the Ecuadorians and allow us to fulfill our goals,” added Olsen.

Ecuador is not only a partner country at the International Tourism Fair, but also received recognition for the best stand this year, along with Ghana and Morocco among the 52 participating countries. He also presented an investment guide with which he wants to inject 230 million dollars into ten new tourism projects.

According to the organizers, Fitur exceeded the number of visitors in the first three days, which were dedicated to professionals, 153,000 of them, which is 12% more than last year.
