With Ecuador as a partner country, this Wednesday, January 24, the 44th edition of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2024) will begin in Madrid. The event brings together 9,000 participating companies, 152 countries – 20 more than in the 2023 edition – and 806 exhibitors in 9 pavilions – one more than in the previous edition – which Ifema Madrid, organizer of Quota, described as a record.

The fair, which will have 7% more exhibitors compared to the last edition, emphasizes the presence of Ecuador and the global presentation of its tourism offer, which includes its strong air connection with Spain, and all this is supported by the “Time to Reset in Ecuador” campaign, launched in August 2023, which reflects the country’s traditions, nature and culture. Ecuador’s stand will be in pavilion 3, where 48 domestic companies will have the opportunity to make contact with the international sector, in addition to the interesting opportunity it represents for the arrival of foreign tourists to the country.

Fitur 2024 highlights the participation of Ecuador as a partner country and its plan to receive 2 million tourists by 2025.

Ecuador’s undersecretary for tourism promotion, Diego Andrade, told the organization that the presentation planned by the Ecuadorian delegation seeks not only to highlight the significant contribution of Spanish visitors to Ecuadorian tourism, but also to show how it intends to optimize the country’s participation in the fair to comprehensively showcase all the benefits that Ecuador has to offer. “Our focus is on illustrating the cultural richness, natural diversity and unique tourism opportunities that our country presents, underlining our firm intention to strengthen and expand tourism relations between Ecuador and Spain,” the official noted.

Fitur 2024 is the first international tourism event this year of at least 26 others that will be held in the priority markets of issuing travelers for the country in which Ecuador plans to participate.
