A budget greater than S/400 million (US$107 million) will be allocated this year by PetroTal to the development of Lot 95 (Loreto), which has operated since 2018.
Its work plan for 2024 includes the drilling and commissioning of three new horizontal wells in the Brittany North Field – located in the district of Puinahua – and the sustained growth of the infrastructure of Lot 95.
The company expects to reach an average production of 17,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) this year, which represents a growth of 20% year-on-year.
Guillermo Flórez, general manager of PetroTal, highlighted that, after the good operational and financial results achieved last year, a plan has been developed for 2024 aimed at further accelerating the company’s growth.
“We will also make investments in security infrastructure based on a long-term plan that seeks to protect the operation and surrounding areas from the advance of erosion,” he commented.
Among PetroTal’s projects for this year are also the development of a seismic campaign south of the Brittany field and the establishment of two new routes for its production: one to the port of Bayóvar through Yurimaguas and another via the Oil Pipeline. of Heavy Crude Oil (OCP) of Ecuador.
The first well that the company drilled on the L2 Oeste platform, 16H, is already in production and has reached an average of approximately 7,500 bopd, which allows us to foresee good profitability.
Petrotal: S/33.5 million for Pinahua Fund 2.5
On the other hand, Petrotal estimates that more than S/33.5 million (US$9 million) will be generated for the so-called Fund 2.5, as long as the operations of Lot 95 and the transportation of hydrocarbons in Puinahua are not affected during the year.
In the short term, the constitution of the administration board and community representatives is expected to carry out the implementation of Fund 2.5, created to finance development projects in all localities, communities and hamlets of Puinahua.
Added to this will be the important transfers of oil royalties that Puinahua and the other districts of the province of Requena will receive after the approval of the law that improves the distribution of this concept in the Loreto region.
The clause that creates the Development Fund for the District of Puinahua was formally included in the License Agreement for Lot 95 in May 2023. The resources will be managed with the participation of localities, communities and hamlets, organizations, Perupetro, university and company to ensure transparency.
