Donations collected by the private sector through various relief campaigns for members of the public forces (police and military) patrolling the streets across the country have begun to be delivered. The National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA), through its Joining Forces initiative, has delivered 2,042 survival kits to Armed Forces personnel, who will be tasked with distributing the donations across the country.

The union reported that each package contains non-perishable foods, completely sealed in the factory: tuna, rice, sugar, oil, noodles, cocoa, coffee and water. In addition, toiletries: alcohol, toilet paper, toothbrush, toothpaste, among other products.

This CNA initiative started last January 11 and was made possible by donations from a private company associated with the shrimp sector, with the purpose of supporting law enforcement forces in their transcendental work to regain control of the country.

The union invited other organizations to join these initiatives. “These actions, which should continue for some time, represent a call for continued cooperation with the same determination with which our law enforcement forces defend every space in Ecuador,” the chamber noted.

Meanwhile, other actions of support from private companies have been undertaken, for example, La Llave de Comercio, a company dedicated to solutions for the industrial and construction sectors, has installed 6 water purifiers in the Model Barracks and the San Eduardo Naval Base, in solidarity with members of the Armed Forces and the police.

“Our brave soldiers and police are on the streets, on long-term patrols. As La Llave we wanted to support them with hydration so that they can withstand the strong city heat,” said a company spokesperson.

The purifiers will provide police and military personnel with an unlimited amount of purified water at their fingertips, directly from the kitchen faucet. It will be water with a better taste, smell and color than that obtained from bottles.

“This aid will benefit approximately 2 thousand people, including soldiers and police, who will receive purified water, free of 99.99% bacteria that cause gastrointestinal diseases. In addition, it will be a significant saving when buying bottles because they will have water constantly available directly from the tap,” the company states.
