What are the new changes to Scotiabank rates?
According to the communication sent to Scotiabank customers, these are the next conditions and rates for savings accounts that will apply from April 8, 2024:
Counter Operations
- Balance and Movement Consultation in Agents: S/10 that will be charged at the window to those who have a Super Account and accounts such as Power, Travel, Income, Mortgage, Salary and Independent Salary.
- Excess operations in Agencies (withdrawal or transfer): 1 free operation per month, but the second will charge a commission of S/8 to those who have a Salary Account and an Independent Salary Account.
- Excess operations in Agencies (withdrawal or transfer): users who have a Super Account, Account. Power, Cta. Travel, Cta. Income, Account Mortgage and Account. Salary or Independent Salary who do not receive remuneration or salaries, will have 1 free operation per month, but the second will be recorded with a commission of S/10.
- Automatic Salary Advance Discount: For those who have a Salary Account, the rate will be S/20.
Third party transversal service
- Excess operations in Scotiabank Agents: All withdrawals or transfers will have 1 free operation per month, but the second will be recorded with a commission of S/2 for those who have a Salary Account and Independent Salary Account.
- Excess operations in Scotiabank Agents: Scotiabank users will have to pay S/2 for the commission on withdrawals or transfers they make. (Super Account and accounts such as Power, Travel, Income, Mortgage, Salary and Independent Salary that do not receive remuneration or salaries)
- Balance and Movement Consultation in Agents: A commission of S/2 will be charged to those who have a Super Account and accounts such as Power, Travel, Income, Mortgage, Salary and Independent Salary.
Will digital consultations at Scotiabank be commission-free?
Yes. According to Scotiabank’s email to its users, the Digital operations (app or web) are totally commission-free.
Scotiabank responds to consultation on new rates
Through a statement sent to La República, Scotiabank indicated that they have designed a plan to accompany its users in the digitalization process. Likewise, they indicated that “around one and a half million people in their portfolio already have their digital username, which allows them to use their services, saving time and money, without traveling and, above all, avoiding risks.”
Finally, they said that through their app, citizens can see their balance, account status and make interbank transfers for free through the Salary Account or Free Account.
