In November 2023, the production of all metals took off in Peru

The production of all metals progressed in November 2023 compared to the ratios reached in the same month of the previous year, according to the Mining Statistical Bulletin (BEM) prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).

The report indicates that copper remains in the lead and at historic peaks. With the extraction of 228,659 fine metric tons (FMT) in the eleventh month of the year, the red metal had a year-on-year growth of 10.9%, thanks to higher yields in Cerro Verde, Southern and Quellaveco.

Similarly, gold production increased 9.7% in November, thanks to the extraction of 9 million 377,633 fine grams (about 9.4 tons of gold) leveraged by Antamina, Yanacocha and Poderosa.

Likewise, Minem reported on the positive progress in the production of zinc (1.2%), silver (6.9%), lead (9%), iron (8.5%), tin (19.4%). %) and molybdenum (19.5%).

In the accumulated period from January to November 2023, metallic mining production reflected a year-on-year increase in copper (+14%), gold (+2.1%), zinc (+5.8%), lead (+6.3 %), iron (+13.4%) and molybdenum (+6.1%). However, a decrease was recorded in silver (-1.9%) and tin (-9.8%).
