This January 12, Alejandro Torvisco Palomino, general manager and director of the company Anypsa Perú SA, was sentenced to four years of suspended prison and the payment of civil compensation for tax fraud.
This sanction was imposed on the manager after the Supraprovincial Liquidating Criminal Court in Customs, Tax, Intellectual Property and Environmental Crimes of Lima determined that the Peruvian company incurred tax fraud during the fiscal years of 2012 and 2013 “to the detriment of the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration-Sunat”.
Who is Alejandro Torvisco Palomino?
He was born in the Apurimac region and is 56 years old. The story of this Peruvian businessman arises together with that of his brothers, Nemecio and Prudencio, with whom he founded the company more than 30 years ago. Initially, Alejandro was the one who had the idea of marketing paintings, since he learned to make them in the tire shop where he worked during his adolescence.
At the beginning, Nemecio supported him with the distribution of the products on his bicycle. Then, the three decided to invest their savings in this business to create their own paint factory: thus Anypsa was born.
Their first location was 100 square meters, from which they had to move in 1991, since the person who rented it to them was not the owner. However, they managed to regain their desire and today they have a modern 65,000 square meter painting plant, a team of more than 600 workers and 34 delivery trucks.
How much does Anypsa have to pay Sunat?
Apart from the four years of suspended prison that the Anypsa manager must serve, the company must pay civil compensation of S/76 million 55,517.92 to Sunat.
The Torvisco family has until October 2024 to pay close to S/11 million, and the rest must be paid within a period of 30 additional months until 2027; That is, each month you must pay a sum close to S/2.2 million.
