School bonus 2024: How much will be deposited this year? Requirements and payment date

The Peruvian Government published this morning supreme decree No. 001-2024-EF, which establishes regulatory provisions for the granting of the Schooling Bonus for Fiscal Year 2024. How much will it amount to?

The allowance or bonus for schooling, known as the schooling bonus, is a State benefit that is granted mainly to public officials and Peruvian servants with children.

For the private sector, this monetary support for school expenses is not mandatory. However, each company has the flexibility to decide whether to grant it as a labor benefit or agree it with the company’s unions.

It is awarded to officials who have worked in the company for at least three months. If the seniority in the company is less, the benefit is adjusted proportionally to the days and months worked.

School bonus 2024: how much will be deposited this year?

As in previous years, the benefit of the 2024 Schooling Bonus amounts to the sum of S/400.00 (FOUR HUNDRED AND 00/100 SOLES).

This benefit is paid, one time, in the payment sheet for the month of January 2024 and, in the case of contracted teachers and educational assistants hired within the framework of Law No. 29944, Teacher Reform Law, the payment of the Schooling Bonus is paid, one time only, in the payment form for the month of June 2024.

Schooling bonus 2024: who does it cover?

The Education Bonus is granted in favor of officials and servants appointed and hired under the labor regime of Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 29944 and Law No. 30512.

Also to the university teachers referred to in Law No. 30220; the health personnel referred to in paragraph 3.2 of article 3 of Legislative Decree No. 1153; permanent and temporary workers in the Public Sector; the personnel of the Armed Forces. and PNP; and pensioners dependent on the State included in the regimes of Law No. 15117, Decree Laws No. 19846 and No. 20530, Supreme Decree No. 051-88-PCM and Law No. 28091.

Penitentiary servants (INPE) are considered in the same way, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of article 24 of Law No. 29709, Law of the Special Public Penitentiary Career.

It should be noted that Public Sector workers, who are under the labor regime of private activity, receive the Schooling Bonus, in accordance with numeral 7.2 of article 7 of Law No. 31953.

School Bonus 2024: requirements for the benefit of S/400

The active personnel indicated in article 2 of this rule have the right to receive the Schooling Bonus, provided that they jointly comply with the following conditions:

  • Be working on the effective date of this rule, or in use of vacation rest, or on paid leave or receiving the subsidies referred to in Law No. 26790, Law of Modernization of Social Security in Health.
  • Have been in the service for no less than three (3) months as of the date provided for in the preceding paragraph. If you do not have the aforementioned period of three (3) months, said benefit is paid proportionally to the months and days worked.

In the case of contracted teachers and educational assistants hired within the framework of Law No. 29944, Teacher Reform Law, they have the right to receive the Schooling Bonus, provided that they jointly comply with the following conditions:

  • Be working in the month of June of this year, or in use of vacation rest, or on paid leave or receiving the subsidies referred to in Law No. 26790, Law of Modernization of Social Security in Health.
  • Have been in the service for no less than three (3) months as of the date provided for in the preceding paragraph. If you do not have the aforementioned period of three (3) months, said benefit is paid proportionally to the months and days worked.

For the National Teachers, the Schooling Bonus is granted to teachers with a full working day, for the amount indicated in literal b) of section 7.1 of article 7 of Law No. 31953, within the framework of the provisions of Law No. 29944, Teacher Reform Law.

In the case of employees included in their own career regimes who work part-time or incomplete working hours, the Schooling Bonus is applicable proportionally to their counterpart who works full-time, under the responsibility of the Administration Office or the one that does so. their times of the respective entity.
