Bonus 500 for families at risk due to flooding of the Rímac River: how to access the subsidy?

Amid the growing threat of the rising Rímac River, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVC) deploys the Housing Leasing Bonus for Emergencies (BAE) in San Martin de Porres. This subsidy of S/500 is monthly and is delivered for 2 years.

The objective is to provide housing security to vulnerable families, located in the marginal strip of the river, in the face of the risk of collapse due to the intense rains associated with the El Niño phenomenon. Below, we detail how you can request this benefit.

Who can request the 500 soles rental bonus?

This subsidy is provided preventively to families who live in areas at risk due to the El Niño phenomenon. In this case, the call is for families who reside on Malecón Rímac Avenue, whose homes are at risk of collapse due to the increase in the river’s flow.

Homes do not necessarily have to be declared uninhabitable; if they are exposed to an area of non-mitigable risk, then immediate attention and the possibility of accessing housing subsidy are activated.

Leasing bonus: how to access the 500?

Access to the housing rental voucher for emergencies is a coordinated process between local authorities and the Housing sector. The Municipality of San Martín de Porres will carry out the registration of families on Malecón Rímac avenueidentifying homes that are at risk.

Once the families at risk are registered, the information will be channeled to the Ministry of Housing to activate the subsidy in the shortest time possible. The monthly delivery of S/500 for 2 years allows these families to rent homes in safer areas, guaranteeing their protection from inclement weather and potential danger.
