A few hours before the Crisis Staff assessed the state of power outages, energy production in the country was recorded in 89 percent of hydroelectric plants, according to real-time operational data published this Monday, January 8, by the National Electric Power Operator, Cenace.
A meeting of the Crisis Staff is scheduled for this Tuesday, January 9, which will be chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mining, Andrea Arrobo. The state of power outages for the second half of the month will be defined there, as rationing has been suspended until the 15th of this month.
Mazar Hydroelectric is close to maxing out and will replace Coca Codo’s maintenance input: when will it be decided if there will be a blackout?
According to the Cenace report, for this Monday the total production was 21,025 (MWh), of which 89% is hydraulic, while the rest is other production.
Energy production comes from the Mazar plant, with 26%, followed by Coca Codo Sinclair (24%) and Molino (17%). Other collaborators are:

Likewise, Cenace indicated in its Jan. 6 daily operational information report that hydropower generation was 76%, with the Coca Codo Sinclair and Molino plants contributing the most.
At the end of December, on December 30, it was at 91%, high levels compared to the 60% reached when blackouts were recorded.
On January 5, the Ministry of Energy reported that the Mazar Dam was responsible for guaranteeing electricity supply, while the Coca Codo Sinclair was undergoing maintenance on January 6 and 7.
Mazar recorded a figure of 2,146 meters above sea level (m above sea level), with a margin of 72%; the maximum level is 2,153 m above sea level. Likewise, they stated that a significant recovery of the reservoir level was also recorded at the Paute power plant, whose level rose to 1,985.4 m above sea level; the highest is 1,991 m above sea level
