In a financial turnaround for 2024, the citizens of Lima and Callao will face a significant increase in municipal taxes. An analysis of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) reveals an increase that ranges between 1.5% and 30%.

The changes in prices are due to the increase in living costs and other factors not yet clarified by local authorities. Which districts are affected and what are the exact rates? Below, we analyze this data in detail.

In how many districts will the price of taxes increase?

The price increase extends to a total of 40 districts in Lima. Of these, 17 will experience adjustments in their excise rates due to inflation. This phenomenon generates concern, since residents will have to adapt to this new financial reality in a context of crisis.

Districts like Callao, La Victoria, Barranco, San Juan de Miraflores, among others, present the greatest increases, with significant percentages, although these increases are not fully explained in the CCL report.

The increase in taxes was informed

This change was communicated through ordinances published in A Peruvian man until December 31, 2023. The municipalities of Lima and Callao usually notify the amount of the taxes, either monthly or quarterly, and possible discounts for cash payment.
