At the end of 2023, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) made 71 calls to serve more than 14,200 families with the Housing Leasing Bonus for Emergencies (BAE) in 12 regions of the country.
The subsidy of S/500 was granted to families who lost their homes due to the heavy rainfall of Cyclone Yaku and the El Niño Costero phenomenon, as well as earthquakes and other natural disasters. The budget available for this care was S/165.8 million.
Among the regions with the largest number of families benefiting from the BAE grant, Piura is located, with more than 4,623 families with a disbursement of S/55.4 million; Lambayeque, 3,356 beneficiaries (S/40.2 million); La Libertad, 1,616 (S/19.3 million) and Áncash, 1,331 (S/15.9 million).
There are also Lima, with 1,159 (S/13.9 million); Amazonas, 674 (S/8 million); Cajamarca, 614 (S/7.3 million), in addition to Ayacucho, 352 (S/4.2 million); San Martín, 141 (S/1.6 million); Tumbes, 95 (S/1.1 million); Ica, 35 (S/420,000); Huancavelica, 28 (S/336,000) and Pasco, 17 (S/204,000).
The MVCS reported that it deployed more than 60 technicians nationwide in compliance with the care procedure and for technical assistance to local governments.
What is the Lease Bonus?
The Lease Bond or BAE is a temporary solution for affected families who have lost their home due to some natural phenomenon or other emergency that leads to damage or loss of their home. The value of this subsidy is S/500 per month and is delivered for a maximum period of two years.
It should be noted that the MVCS serves with this subsidy in territories declared in a state of emergency, such as the aforementioned regions. Furthermore, according to the attention process, potential beneficiaries are summoned through ministerial resolutions, to then present the necessary documentation in their jurisdiction.
