The public sector begins 2024 with a salary increase of S/50 for its workers. This measure, implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, seeks to strengthen working conditions, but certain requirements are necessary to access the increase.

The increase was made official through supreme decree 313, published in El Peruano. Let’s see in detail who benefits, when it begins to be applied and what the requirements are to access this salary improvement.

Who are the beneficiaries of the 50 Soles salary increase?

The measure covers servants, managers and officials belonging to labor regimes No. 728 and No. 1057, in addition to laws No. 30057 (Civil Service), No. 29709 (Special Public Penitentiary Career) and No. º 28091 (Diplomatic Service of the Republic). This inclusion ensures that a variety of public sector workers will benefit from an extra income of S/50 in the context of the economic crisis that the country is experiencing.

From when does the salary increase apply??

The salary increase, aligned with what was agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and subsequently integrated into the 2024 Public Budget, applies from January 2024.

The supreme decree highlights that the salary increase has a remunerative nature, is pensionable in nature, in addition, is subject to social charges and is the basis for calculating labor benefits.

Salary increase of 50 Soles: what are the requirements?

To access the increase, public workers must meet the following conditions:

  • In the case of the national government and regional governments, the beneficiary servants must be registered in the Computer Application for the Centralized Registry of Payrolls and Data of Human Resources of the Public Sector (AIRHSP), of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
  • The total monthly income must not exceed S/15,600, according to Emergency Decree No. 038-2006.
